Bible verses about healing abound in the Good Book. Healing scriptures for the sick can be found in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. God revealed Himself as the Healer in the book of Exodus. Jesus addressed the “is healing the will of God” issue in Matthew 8:3.

God remains in the healing business and revealed Himself as The Healer in the book of Exodus. Jesus healed thousands during His brief time on earth. Peter’s shadow was known to have healing power and Paul’s handkerchiefs did as well. We can go to God with confidence and ask for healing in our bodies!

BIBLE VERSES ABOUT HEALTH

Good health is not a bad thing! Many Christians spend an inordinate amount of time trying to explain away the goodness of God. Here are a few bible verses about health and healing.

Malachi 4:2 But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and frolic like calves from the stall.

Jeremiah 33:6 Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

III John 2 Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.

Proverbs 3:7-8 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.

BIBLE VERSES ABOUT HEALING

Healing was performed in the time of Moses, when Jesus walked on the earth, during the time of the prophets, and recorded by the Psalmists.

Exodus 15:26 And said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

Mark 6:13 And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them.

Psalm 103:1-3 Bless the Lord, my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget any of His benefits; Who pardons all your guilt, Who heals all your diseases.

Hosea 11:3 I taught Ephraim to walk, Taking them by their arms; But they did not know that I healed them.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

BIBLE SCRIPTURES ABOUT HEALING

There is healing power in the Word of God.

Luke 5:17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

Acts 9:34 And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately.

Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

HEALING SCRIPTURES FOR THE SICK

If you’re sick, grab some oil and get your elders on the phone!

James 5:14-15 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise.

Acts 5:15-16 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also, a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

Luke 7:21 In that hour he healed many people of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he bestowed sight.

Matthew 14:14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Mark 1:30-31 But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once. So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.

MIRACLE HEALING POWERS

Our youngest child was diagnosed with a debilitating disease as an infant. The medical profession told us that he would never fully develop physically and that his mental abilities would be stunted.

Jesus is our great physician.

He is scheduled to graduate from college in the Spring of 2021 from Grove City College with a degree in economics. He is a normal-sized young man with no physical or mental challenges.

God is still in the miracle-working business!

I Corinthians 12:28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.

JESUS HEALING THE BLIND MAN

I love the story of Blind Bart! Bart was loud, proud, audacious, and anti-establishment.

Mark 10:47-52 And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” So they called the man who was blind, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.” And throwing off his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus. Replying to him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The man who was blind said to Him, “Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.

Luke 18:41-43 “What do you want Me to do for you?” And he said, “Lord, I want to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to him, “Regain your sight; your faith has [p]made you well.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God.

HEALINGS IN THE BIBLE

Healing in the Bible is commonplace. They are often mentioned without fanfare or praise. Just another day at the office for Jesus.

Acts 5:16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

Luke 8:43-44 And a woman who had suffered a chronic flow of blood for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His [a]cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Hebrews 12:12-13 Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.

Luke 4:40 Now while the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He was laying His hands on each one of them and healing them.

BIBLE VERSES ABOUT HEALING A BROKEN HEART

Our hearts are tender. We all will experience a broken heart at some point in our lives. That pain is the price we pay for experiencing love. God is mindful of the broken hearted.

Pour out your anguish to Him.

Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.

Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Psalm 4:7 You have put joy in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine are abundant.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Psalm 61:2 From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Proverbs 14:30 A tranquil heart is life to the body, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

JESUS THE HEALER

Fair-minded people will disagree as to whether or not physical healing is for today.

I’ve heard absurd statements such as, “Jesus always heals! If you don’t receive it that’s not on Him!”

I’ve also heard persons proclaim that God gets glory out of cancer. “Don’t waste your cancer,” is absolute lunacy.

We have the right to approach God and ask for His healing touch. He is our Healer and Jesus brought healing at Calvary.

I Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds, you have been healed.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil because God was with him.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed.

BENEDICTION

Revelation 22:1-2 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
